Bio & Sport Background

Born in the Jura region of France, I grew up in the wooded and rolling Jura mountains where I enjoyed cross-country running during my secondary school years and competed at regional level.  In my 20's, during my student years, I was a keen cross-country mountain biker and participated in a few races.

My first job brought me to Paris where I lived for about 10 years.  During this period of my life, I played table tennis in a club and also enjoyed playing squash regularly with my work colleagues for fun.  I met my lovely English wife in Paris and we decided to move to the UK in 2004.

After several years without doing much sport, I wanted to improve my overall fitness and my wife introduced me to Craig’s circuit classes in 2012.  Craig quickly encouraged me to take up running and cycling, which I’d last done seriously 20 years ago.  I had my first one to one session with Craig on the 1st October 2012 during which he asked me to run a mile as fast as possible to measure my speed.  Then I had further one to one sessions with Craig to build my confidence and then he set me a training schedule to gradually improve my stamina and speed.

Craig suggested I enter duathlons and having performed well, I attempted to qualify for the Great Britain age group team at the 2013 ITU Duathlon World Championships in Ottawa.  With some more one to one sessions and much commitment, I finally made the team 6 months later and had a great experience competing internationally alongside double Olympic gold medallist James Cracknell.
